"The Grover Complex" at two more film festivals!

The feature comedy I produced called "The Grover Complex" has been selected to screen at two more film festivals this week.  We're an official selection of the inaugural year of the Portland Maine International Film Festival and an official selection of the Action On Film Festival in Pasadena.

We're so happy and honored to be included in these fest's selections.  Congrats to all involved!

"Jefferson" will screen at Action on Film!

The feature film "Jefferson" which I wrote with Director Karen Bullis pre "The Grover Complex" will be screening at this year's 2010 Action on Film Festival!  There are some familiar faces behind and in front of the camera on "Jefferson" with director Karen Bullis, DP Shweta Chanda, Leigh Carlson, Adilla Amelia, Fernando Noor, Tristan Scott, and more.

The movie tells the story of Jefferson as he joins his estranged father for a weekend of paintball.

Congrats again to cast and crew!  You all should be so proud. :)

Two new great reviews for "The Grover Complex"

We'd like to thank Duane L. Martin of "Rogue Cinema" and Matt Shea of "Swanky Reviews" for their positive, encouraging, and thoughtful reviews of "The Grover Complex".

With so many independent films out there and the rather commanding presence of studio films it's sometimes hard to earn a few hours of someone's time.  A huge "thank you" to them!

Duane says, “It’s nice, it’s fun, it has characters you can care about and it’s well made. What more could you ask for in a film? This is definitely one you’ll want to check out.”

And Matt says, “Bottom Line: It’s a well thought out, well written, well executed, and all around fun flick well worth seeing – enjoy!”

The Grover Complex wins "Best Comedy"

"The Grover Complex" won for "Best Comedy" at the Bare Bones International Film and Music Festival.  It's a major honor to be awarded this accolade from Bare Bones, which recognizes the low-budget, do-it-yourself-filmmaker.

We congratulate our cast and crew and thank Bare Bones for their kindness and hospitality.

"The Grover Complex" nominated for four awards

"The Grover Complex" has been nominated for four awards at the Bare Bones Film Festival.  "Best Comedy", "Best Ensemble Cast", "Best Actress": Heather Tocquigny, and "Best Actor": Fernando Noor.

The award winners will be announced April 25th in Muskogee Oklahoma. Wish us luck!

"The Grover Complex" accepted into Bare Bones Film Festival

The indie comedy Claire produced "The Grover Complex",  (written by and starring Fernando Noor), has been accepted into the Bare Bones Film Festival.

The festival specializes in low-budget, do-it-yourself film, which, if you know anything about "Grover" makes this fest a perfect fit for us.  Claire and T.G.C. Films are looking forward to meeting like-minded filmmakers at this festival; possibly swapping a few painful stories over cheap beer before heading back to our cheap hotel rooms for the evening.

"The Grover Complex screens April 24th at 8:15 pm at the Roxy Theater.

If you're going to be in Oklahoma you can get your tickets here.

Claire's latest publishings

Claire recently had two pieces of poetry published in the poetry magazine "Breadcrumb Scabs", edited by Lena Judith Drake.  The poems, "Proposing to a young man with a ring pop" and "1-800-Flowers" appear in issue #16.

Claire's thrilled to be a part of this issue, and the magazine can be downloaded or bought here.

Indie Slate issue #59

It’s out! The article on The Grover Complex that I wrote for Indie Slate magazine is now in stores.

The article looks great thanks to the pictures taken by Dan Blanchett. If you’re in the LA area the magazine should be available at most newsstands and book stores. Through the greater US and Canada you can find the magazine at Borders and Barnes and Noble. If it’s not in your particular store you can order through the magazine’s website www.indieslate.com

We’re so happy to have a “Reel Life Story” on our film in Indie Slate as we work hard to spread the Grover word.

The best to all this holiday season!
